Hi, I’m Andrea.
I am a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist™ who loves helping children and teens (4-14 years old) work through life’s challenges in order to calm the chaos of BIG feelings.
My approach to play therapy is tailored to meet your child’s needs.
With children under the age of ten, my primary approach is Child-Centered Play Therapy, a developmentally responsive, evidence-based intervention that uses toys in a play room setting and the therapeutic relationship to address the mental health needs of children. With children and teens ages 10-14, I take a more integrative approach that blends games, expressive arts, sand tray, conversation, and humor to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and to improve functioning. In addition to play therapy, interventions may include cognitive behavioral strategies, attachment work, collaborative problem-solving, communication, mindfulness, social skills, coping strategies, and neuroscience.
No matter what approach best fits your child’s needs, I will walk with your child as they cultivate the resilience and courage to be their authentic and true self. As a parent myself, I understand that parenting is hard. Sometimes we need help figuring it all out.
I offer parent sessions to listen to the challenges you face and to work together to address your concerns. If you need someone to advocate for your child’s needs and collaborate with educators, physicians, or other providers in your child’s life, I will be in your child’s corner every step of the way.
I am here to listen and support you and your child. Let’s begin your journey to healing together.
